The Wilson 805165 Tri-Band 4G-V Amplifier for 3G & Verizon 4G LTE Just Announced

Next week, Wilson Electronics is set to release it’s newest cell phone signal boosting amplifier, the Wilson 805165 Tri-Band 4G-V Amplifier for 3G & Verizon 4G LTE. This professional grade system is the first tri-band amplifier from Wilson that combines the standard dual-band frequencies used by most North American carriers with the 700 MHz frequency band used by Verizon’s new LTE network. To understand why the release of this amplifier is a big deal, let’s start with a little back story. All cell phone signal boosters are designed to amplify specific frequencies that are used by mobile devices. The most common frequencies are 800 MHz and 1900 MHz, which most carriers use for their 2G and 3G networks. With the introduction of 4G networks, carriers are using different frequencies which aren’t supported by these dual-band amplifiers. Making things worse, most 4G networks aren’t setup to handle voice calls. That meant that until recently, you would have to choose between getting a dual-band system to boost voice calls and 3G data or getting a new amplifier that could boost your carrier’s 4G network for fast data, but no phone calls. With the release of the Wilson 805165 Tri-Band 4G-V Amplifier, you can now have the ability to boost the standard frequencies used for 2G and 3G while also boosting the frequencies used by Verizon’s new 4G LTE network. This booster can eliminate dropped calls, reduce static and other noise, and significantly increase data rates in locations with a weak signal. The new Tri-Band 4G-V is a powerful 70 dB amplifier that can cover up to 10,000 sq ft of inside space depending on the strength of the existing outside signal. The Tri-Band 4G-V is compatible with virtually all carriers in North America. Specifically, the Wilson Tri-Band 4G-V will boost:
  • 2G Voice Calls on all major North American networks including AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular, C-Spire, Cricket, MetroPCS, and regional carriers, but not Nextel
  • 3G Voice and Data on all major North American networks except T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Cricket 3G, and Nextel
  • 4G HSPA+ on AT&T (but not LTE)
  • 4G LTE on Verizon
The Wilson 805165 Tri-Band 4G-V Amplifier works with at least two antennas (sold separately) to boost a cell signal. The system starts with one antenna mounted outside the building, which is responsible for communicating with the closest cell tower. That antenna is connected to the amplifier using a low loss coax cable. Another low loss coax cable is connected to the other port on the amplifier that drives an inside antenna, which is responsible for communicating with your mobile devices. Some things to note, because this is a powerful amplifier, there needs to be at least 20 ft. of vertical separation between the inside and outside antennas, and for best performance, adding as much as 75 ft. of horizontal separation may be necessary. Additionally, omnidirectional antennas will require more separation than directional antennas. In situations where you can not achieve enough separation, reducing the gain on the amplifier will help eliminate oscillation or feedback in the system. For the outside antenna, you can use either a directional, or omnidirectional antenna. We recommend using an omnidirectional antenna only if you get a 4 or 5 bar signal outside or if you need to cover multiple carriers. If you’re only interested in covering Verizon, then you can go with a directional antenna. For convenience, the engineers at UberSignal created kits for these two situations, the first is the Wilson 845165 Tri-Band 4G-V Signal Booster Kit for 3G & Verizon 4G LTE, which includes an omnidirectional antenna and everything you need to boost your signal. The other kit is the Wilson 845163 Tri-Band 4G-V Premium Kit for 3G & Verizon 4G LTE, which includes a directional antenna, as well as everything you need to boost your signal. The new Wilson 845165 Tri-Band 4G-V Repeater is an impressive new signal boosting amplifier that will enable people to enjoy crystal-clear phone calls and lightning fast Verizon 4G LTE data speeds. By combining a dual-band and LTE amplifier, you’re now able to experience both with a signal system. For more information, check out the Wilson 805165 Tri-Band 4G-V 70dB Amplifier page.
